When would I consider creating additional filesystems? I couldn't find great information about this online. I believe the recommendation is not to write data directly to the "default" filesystem on the `backup` zpool, right? I set the mountpoint for `backup` to `none` and the mountpoint for `backup/nas` to `/media/backup/nas`. I then turned on compression and dedup and then created a filesystem (called `backup/nas`). After studying some tutorials (and the pinned posts on this sub), I created a zpool (called `backup`) with a single vdev (containing the single disk). I have a spare internal hard drive in my desktop machine that I would like to use for backing up critical data stored on my NAS. ![]() For the first time ever I've set up ZFS on my Ubuntu box. ![]()
